Our manufacturing process

Our manufacturing process at MPI Copper is carefully tuned and optimized to ensure the highest quality and performance.

At MPI Copper, we have developed a specialized process to produce our high-quality copper. It all starts with cathode copper, or scrap copper, which is fed directly into the melting furnace of our QL1 composite furnace system. Here, the copper is melted by a frequency inductor and fed in liquid form into a transition chamber. The liquid copper mass flows automatically into the holding furnace, where it is deoxidized by a layer of carbon. In the holding furnace, the copper liquid is quickly converted into a casting rod by the crystallizer of the casting machine. This is then pulled out by the casting machine's double pull-off roller. As soon as the casting rod is drawn off, it is taken to the coiler. The copper is then either sold directly or used in our other production processes. Thanks to this special process, we are able to produce copper of excellent quality that meets the high demands of our customers.

Cathode copper / scrap metal copper

This is the starting point of the process. It is copper in the form of cathodes or scrap metal.

Melting furnace

The cathode copper or scrap metal copper is placed in the melting furnace. Here it is melted into liquid form using a frequency inductor.

Transition chamber

From here, the liquid copper mass flows smoothly through the transition chamber. This serves to prepare the copper mass for the next step.

Holding oven

The molten copper mass is stored in the holding furnace. This is also where the deoxidation of the copper takes place, for which carbon is used.

Casting machine

The molten copper mass is crystallized in the casting machine, turning it into a casting rod.

Casting rod

The cast rod is the end product of this process. It consists of the molded copper.

Tapping device

After the casting rod has been pulled from the casting machine, it is guided to the removal device. This is where the casting rod is picked up.

Sale or further processing

Finally, the cast rod can either be sold or processed further, depending on the requirements and intended use.
